Taco Bell Commercial Description

This 2013 Taco Bell ad is meant to originally air during Super Bowl 47. This is my favorite commercial I’ve seen so far.

The ad begins in a retirement home with an old man who appears to be going to bed, but he sneaks out and gets in the car with his friends and they go out for a wild night on the town.
Their activities include:

  • skinny dipping without permission in someones pool.
  • Setting off fireworks on doorsteps
  • Dancing at a club with sexy young people & making out in the bathroom stall
  • Getting tattoos
  • Hanging out on the car eating Taco Bell as the cops drive by and beep their siren at them
  • They return to the retirement home at dawn

More About Song in Commercial

This song used in the Taco Bell Super Bowl ad is a Spanish cover of We Are Young by the band Fun.. The song has been used in tons of other movies and commercials. Most notably, in last year’s Super Bowl commercials, there was an ad for the Chevy Sonic that used the song, which ended up being the most popular commercial in this website’s history.

If you happen to know who is actually singing this Spanish version of the song, please let us know in the comments.

I was going to post one of the many Spanish cover versions of the song We Are Young but they’re all awful. So instead, here is a video of a white guy Jose Chavez, performing his own interpretation of a Spanish version of the song.

That is me on the video, Matt. I am Mexican… born in Mexico City, and raised in Mexico City. But I guess I blend in with the white folks here in the USA!
